Grunt Tested, Combat Approved

Brian,
I just wanted to say thanks for making a superior product. All of the sheaths you made for me were outstanding. I had complete confidence that my knives were secure while I was on patrol in the Sandbox. In fact, many of my fellow Soldiers attempted to pull the knives from your sheaths and couldn’t. Even without any additional retention devices, the knives stayed secure. It seems they couldn’t figure out how to remove them, nor could they just yank them out while I was wearing them.

And your knives!! I cannot say how impressed I am with your blade. Of the 8 knives I carried, I used yours the most. I used it daily, and the only time I didn’t have it on me was when I was in the shower. I used your knife for everything I could think of, from cleaning my nails, to cutting demo. I used it for prying doors open and picking the lock to my hooch. Hell, I even jammed it into the lock of a VW Passat so I could unlock it and look inside. Obviously not something it was designed for, but the Sharp Thing took all the abuse I gave it. If I ever buy another knife, I guarantee you it will be one of yours.

There is nothing bad I can say about Brian’s products or his business practice. His knife sheaths are damn near indestructible. I own 3 of them and they all went to the Sandbox with me. They are secure, yet can be easily drawn when needed. The only place safer for your knife is locked in a vault.

I own one of Brian’s very first knives. I needed a replacement for a production blade that broke when it fell off the top of a Stryker. When I picked up the Sharp Thing, it felt like it was made to fit my hand. I own many knives; Spydercos, Gerber, CRKT, Benchmade autos, a Dozier and a Chris Reeve Project II. When I needed a knife that wouldn’t fail and can take abuse, I reach for my Okuden Sharp Thing.

Brian is a staunch supporter of the troops, and it shows in his business practice. His customer service is by far the best I have ever received. Brian has met me at 9 pm to deliver merchandise because I needed it in a hurry. He has even had a finished product to me 4 hours after I ordered it. When he says deploying MilPers have priority, he means it!

If you need a secure, dependable sheath, or you are in the market for a quality custom knife at an affordable price, look no further than Okuden and Brian Wagner. I’ve trusted my life to his products, and I recommend them to anybody.

A little story...
In Dec of 2000, two months before my first WESTPAC, my father and wife bought me a Busse Steel Heart E variant (a "bolo heart") before the Mojo was available. I had previously owned a straight handled variant SH with serrations and sold it (stupid move!) The straight handled SH came with a hi-desert kydex sheath which was well made and I wanted a kydex leg sheath I could depend on for my new SH-E variant. As a member of a Security Plt (Trailor Plt) with the Maritime Special Purposes Force (MSPF) 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Ops Capable), I needed a rig for my knife that I new would survive fast-ropping on to gas and oil platforms, boarding and seizing foreign sea vessels, direct action assaults, and any other work a machine gunner for the Corps may have to do...

I ordered the knife from Andy Prisco, who sent it to me in record time. However, it came with a sheath that was not "combat ready" in my opinion, and I sent it back to him to have a kydex sheath made. I received the knife back from Andy and deployed with the knife and sheath. The knife was carried in three different countries (Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait) during three different operations and survived all three with not even a problem.I have since reinforced the screws with drops of JB Weld (to ensure they do not loosen up). I have never encountered a sheath as well made or as durable as the sheath Andy had Brian (Oku) make for me. It is a bomb-proof sheath for a bomb-proof knife...

Thanks Oku...never knew where Andy had the sheath made until I saw the pictures on this post and recognized your design.

If you are an operator, you can depend on this rig...no questions asked.

...The sheaths exceeded my expectations and I was impressed. I was confident that Brian would produce a good product, but I couldn’t imagine this. The sheaths met all of my extended criteria. These are easily worth twice what I paid, and better than anything I’ve seen on a production or custom knife. He provides quick service, and we’re thankful for how he is taking care of the guys here in Iraq.
